GET AN (EU) EORI NUMBER – ONLINE APPLICATION IN FRANCE
Since January 1, 2022, a mere EU EORI number is no longer enough to clear goods imported into France. In addition to the EORI number, a foreign company importing its own goods in France must also have a French VAT number. A fiscal representative in France will be required for most non-EU companies applying for a VAT number in France. Please note that the VAT registration process can take up to 4 weeks and we strongly recommend you to anticipate in order to avoid delivery disruptions.
Pursuant to a regulation in force since July 1, 2009, the Member States of the European Union have set up an EORI system for the identification of each organization or person carrying out import-export operations in the EU. In the absence of an EORI number, customs clearance in the EU becomes impossible and goods dispatched will be stuck at customs with a serious risk of being returned to the sender. Furthermore, a non-EU company willing to act as IOR (importer of record) in the EU should get an EORI number beforehand.
Non-EU companies or sole traders willing to obtain an EU EORI number can use the form below to submit an application online*. The EORI number will be available within 2 or 3 working days (after the payment of our fees and the receipt of all the required documents). Once issued by the French Customs Authorities, the EORI number is valid for customs clearance operations in all the EU countries.
Brexit notice : Following the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union, as from 1 January 2021, UK businesses willing to act as Importer/Exporter of Record in the EU must apply for a specific EU EORI number allocated by a Member State of the European Union. For non-UK companies needing to clear their goods in the United Kingdom, they can use the below form to apply for a GB EORI number issued by the British Customs Authorities (HM Revenue & Customs).
This form is exclusively for non-EU companies, except when the application is for a GB EORI number.

This application form was prepared by Corintax Consulting as a Tax service provider. Therefore, this form cannot be considered as an official document issued by a EU Customs Administration.
